The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) provides income tax preparation assistance to income-eligible individuals and families free of charge.  VITA volunteers work to make sure that all allowable credits are claimed, including Earned Income Tax Credit.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $55,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

In addition to VITA, the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program offers free tax help for all taxpayers, particularly those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.

If you were employed in 2018, but earned less than the income guidelines, you may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit—even if you are not required to file an income tax return!

Our IRS certified volunteers can help you file your tax returns for free, and help you claim the refund that you are entitled to.  That’s money you can use for a car, to save for a home, to get caught up on bills, or save for the future.

We Can Help You File Your Taxes and Grow Your Assets!

All Federal and New York State returns are filed electronically.  You can receive your refund in as little as 10 days.  An IRS certified volunteer will prepare your taxes.  Again, there is no cost to you.

Refund Anticipation Loans (RALS) are they a good idea?

RALS are extremely expensive because they borrow against your refund. Loan fees along with filing fees can typically cost over $300 which can eat away a big chunk of your refund!
