First Shiloh Youth Foundation, Inc.

First Shiloh Youth Foundation, Inc. will be offering the STEAM Discovery Camp from July 9, 2018 – August 17, 2018 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The camp is designed for youth in grades Pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. Pre-kindergarten youth must be 5 years of age by July 9, 2018. 

Positions Available  and Job Descriptions

Camp Coordinator 

Responsible for all aspects of the camp.  Develop and provide oversight of quality programs in all camp areas.  Camp Coordinator is also responsible for various administrative tasks, which may include ordering supplies, coordinating schedules, and completing all necessary reports. Coordinator will also provide instruction (if needed) and provide supervision for team (paid and volunteer). Coordinator will also attend mandatory Professional Development training prior to camp start.

Oversight and management of daily activities, general camp operations, and programs to ensure a quality camp. 
Assist in the development of programming and with hiring and handling staffing. 
Ensure that all program area schedules are completed satisfactorily in a timely manner.
Ensure the maintenance of accurate program and administrative records.
Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the camp.
Assist in mid-summer and post-summer evaluations with the Youth Foundation.
Interact effectively with the camp staff as a total system, with campers’ best interest in mind.
Be a leader in parent communication and address parent concerns in a timely manner.  Seek the help of the Youth Foundation when necessary.
Assist with the various administrative tasks necessary for camp to run efficiently.
Prepares daily activity schedules, and ensures staff implement the daily activities
Creates weekly staff schedule and ensure the staff to camper ratio meets state/federal guidelines
Organizes field trip schedule and confirm bus arrival times each week
Ensures safety of campers in the daily camp programs
Fills in as instructor when staff is sick or camp is under ratios, etc.
Assists with general camp duties throughout the day
Assesses individual performance, provide feedback and employee recognition programs/awards
Coaches and counsels Camp Counselors with the guidance of the Foundation Directors

Certified Teacher(s)
Responsible for teaching an age- appropriate class that inspires student’s creative processes and self-expression through learning various skills, work in cooperation with other instructors and staff.

Plan, prepare and deliver fun, engaging and interactive instructional activities
Create positive educational climate for campers to learn in.
Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the summer.
Maintain progress ledgers
Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
Utilize various curriculum resources.
Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Develop incentives to keep participants in class. 
Utilize public library resources.
Work with Camp Coordinator to ensure objectives are being met.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Observe and evaluate student's performance.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
Other duties as needed

Lead camp curriculum, sessions and lessons focused on STEAM
Implement and run daily learning sessions and other activities
Modify activities/lessons as needed to better implement within camp structure
Prepare materials needed prior to each camp session and/or before lessons begin
Responsible for clean up after sessions
Facilitate classroom management and ensure camper engagement
Escort and participate in all field trips
Act as a positive role model for campers
Cultivate a fun environment and HAVE FUN!!!
